Suffolk’s Eastern Campus will be making a splash this spring. Already open to its students for the current semester, the new Health and Wellness Center will soon be accepting public health club memberships.

“I am thrilled that the vision for our Health and Wellness Center on the Eastern Campus is now a reality,” says Dr. Irene Rios, Eastern Campus Executive Dean. “Having this new building allows our students the opportunity to complete physical education requirements on campus and provides bright, new spaces for hosting intramural sports and practicing healthy lifestyles. We also look forward to welcoming East End residents to a state-of-the-art fitness and swimming center right here on our campus in Riverhead.”Membership to the new facility will include use of the 25-meter indoor pool, a complete weight and fitness suite, a professional rock climbing wall and more. The College will be offering preview tours to the public during selected weekends this spring. Discounted memberships will be available to senior citizens and families.

The Health and Wellness Center will be open to community residents seven days a week during the times that the building is not in use for the College’s physical education classes. Suffolk also has a similar health club open to the public on its Michael J. Grant Campus in Brentwood, N.Y.For more details about memberships and preview tours at the Eastern Campus Health and Wellness Center, simply call 631-548-3523.
